I see the reflection within the swimming purple of the portal, and I don't recognize my own face. It's muddled and unfamiliar, and I don't know whether to cry or to laugh.
I don't end up doing either; instead, I pull the book away from my chest and open the front cover, looking at the worn piece of paper taped onto the inside.
There are four people in it, and I don't remember any of them.
