“No,” Maja protests, squirming half-heartedly under his palm. “Mr. Afton, please, I’m not- I wouldn’t lie to you, sir…”
“You’re making this far worse for yourself, dove.” William tells her, feeling the hefty, familiar weight of the knife in his hand, long, pale fingers curved white-knuckling the handle. He feels the fury in his chest like a hand around his heart, gripping until the organ collapses. “Be a good girl and take what I give you.”
