Summary
When a young Pure Vanilla is given pieces of Shadow Milk Cookie’s shattered Souljam, strange things start to occur. Suddenly, his magic is unstable and he gets the feeling that he’s being watched.
Years later, he becomes the bearer of the Souljam and learns that he’s being… protected. Either from bullies or monsters, Pure Vanilla has won the heart of a beast who is eager to be freed from his confinement.

It's over.
The beasts have won.
Shadow Milk SHOULD be overjoyed, and he IS. However, victory is much less satisfying then he thought, though maybe that has something to with a certain cookie locked away in a tower, untouched by the chaos of the world. 'Protected.' For some reason despite now having full control of the soul jam Shadow Milk is still pulled to play games and spend time with a certain truthful sage. Maybe if he keeps pressing he'll find out how to get rid of the nasty feeling in his chest.
Meanwhile Eternal Sugar Cookie deals with her nightmare, a surge of passion that threatens to dismantle the joy she's built for everyone. The joy that she's worked hard to give Hollyberry Cookie.

It rings endlessly through his mind, his usually safe other-realm bringing him no solace nor protection from the pits of madness. It angers him, how he can't properly hide, not even within his own domain. He's well aware he can't stop it; it repeats hopelessly, mockingly, over and over, despite the amount of times he's hissed at it to shut up.

Shadow Milk grits his teeth, grinding them. He normally wouldn't allow the thought to develop up to this point, dismissing it as fast as he possibly could each time it threatened to extend past the first few words, but he's starting to grow sick of the overwhelming numbness lumping in his throat. He'll take just about anything to drown it out at this point; rage happens to be the most convenient at hand.
