Summary
Garrus and Shepard have settled into married life on the Citadel two years after the Reaper war. Garrus has taken the position of Primarch, representing the 3 million Turian refugees and citizens that now live on the Citadel after the damage suffered on Palaven. Shepard has spent her time after the war rehabbing and retiring from service. Settling into civilian life is finally feeling like normalcy, and their recently adopted daughter adds even more to their seemingly, now normal, lives.
But remnants of the divisions created by the Reaper War still remain, and life was never meant to be quiet for the newly formed Vakarian family.

Summary
Garrus is trapped out in space on-board the Normandy and gravely wounded. Once Lora Shepard is released from the hospital, Castis offers to move in with her, both to help care for her, and keep her company as she comes to terms with their loss. He becomes an important parental figure to her over the years, as well as the grandfather to the children they choose to adopt together.
Out in space, Garrus and Kaidan are working together, taking the long way home on the Normandy, and searching for a solution that will keep Garrus alive long enough to be reunited with his family.
A canon divergence from my post-canon fic, "Come Back Alive".

Summary

This story is a "What if" that details how their romance might have gone if they did nothing until the end of the Reaper War.
Unrepentant fluff and romantic erotica. Had planned 2 chapters, but it ran away on its own so more are coming.
Please note: This is Shepard after the Reaper Wars. She has been through a hell no one can imagine, was physically crushed, emotionally scarred and lives with the guilt that trillions died and she could do nothing to stop it. She doesn't want to be strong anymore. She doesn't want to be Shepard anymore.
I have marked this work as Complete for the time being. I am working on my other Shepard/Garrus story, and while I am still working on the next chapter of Why, progress is slow and I am not sure when it will be finished.
