Summary
For most of Kaveh's post-high school career, he's done a pretty good job at avoiding any and all mentions of Alhaitham. Even despite the fact that Alhaitham is just as much -- if not more -- of an actor as him.
After getting the role he's been waiting to play for at least a decade, he finds out that Alhaitham is starring alongside him.
Now he's stuck in this film, and all he can hope for is that Alhaitham will make an effort to avoid him as well.
(Alhaitham does not avoid him in the slightest. In fact, one might go to say he actively seeks out Kaveh's company whenever possible.
Let us wish good luck to the both of their poor souls.)

Kaveh is much too busy most days to check his mail, run ragged by the multitude of tedious commissions that he has no choice but to take, as well as various other odd jobs he runs just to stay afloat.
It means that he hears about the ball well before he sees the invitation he’s been sent.
“A ball, you say?”
The grocer nods. “Supposedly, they’ve invited every architect of repute in the kingdom. I hear,” she says, “that the palace is looking for a new Master Architect.”

“What?” Cyno tilted his head.
Kaveh held out his phone. Cyno and Tighnari leaned over until the sides of their heads were touching as they read the message.
Tighnari jerked away. “Al-Haitham sent you that?”
“I didn’t know he had it in him,” said Cyno.
“Had what?”
“A charitable soul.”
Kaveh needs a place to stay senior year of college and Al-Haitham has an open spot.
