Summary
After capturing a rogue scholar near the Avidiya Forest, Cyno and his captive run into a Zone of Withering. As Cyno defends them, the scholar seizes his chance to escape, and manages to wound Cyno with a poisonous powder. Unbeknownst to its effects, Cyno presses on with his mission, to recapture the criminal and escort him back to the Akademiya for his judgement. It’s not long before the poison takes root, however, forcing the General Mahamatra to relive his worst fears. Can Cyno survive his own sins and still bring the rogue scholar to justice?

In the aftermath of the battle, Lucifer heals Alastor at Charlie's behest. Unfortunately, healing someone's wound is pretty hard when they won't let you touch them, let alone get near them. So instead, Lucifer tries something new- transferring the wound from the sinner to himself. After all, he's an angel. Surely he can handle one little scratch.

“Charlie?” Lucifer had asked in the sudden silence, but understood after seeing what book Charlie had taken a look at.

He hit the button to call the lift, a part of him annoyed at having to wait but not wanting to strain his powers too much. He twirled his cane once in the air, but was suddenly aware that it smelled unmistakably like blood and stopped the movement.
He blinked once, twice, trying to identify where it was coming from - had Lucifer returned bathed in blood, carelessly staining the hallway? His shoes stepped in something wet, but as he bent down to inspect, he realised that the blood on the hall carpet was not red. It wasn't from a sinner.
It was golden.

If there's one thing Alastor can understand very well right now, it's dealing with an angelic wound. Interesting knowledge to have when it's Lucifer himself who acquires one of those. “I did,” Viktor said evenly, though the tension in his voice betrayed him. He gestured to the report on the table, his fingers trembling slightly. “You’ve read this, I assume.”
Jayce’s gaze followed the motion, landing on the report. His shoulders sagged as he let out a quiet sigh. “Yes, I’ve read it. Why?”
Viktor turned to face him fully, his grip on the cane tightening. “Why?” he repeated, his voice sharpening. “Because I need to know how much you knew about this operation.”
