Cleverly, the Commander hot on his trail leads him right into a dead-end.
"Listen, I don't know what I did to offend you but we can talk!" Empty hands raised up, he tries to placate the guy. It seems to anger him further.
"You don't know what you did?" A hand slams against the wall, freezing him in place.
"Sabo."
"How- how do you know my name?"
Or is it the fact that no matter how far you lose yourself, they'll never let you go?

Summary
Garp knew the moment Roger told him about his kid that it would only spell out trouble. In no life would he be able to sit back and let the kid die before he ever got to live.
In another life, that meant keeping the child at a distance. The less known about his “grandson,” the better. Let them believe it was for the crimes of his own son. But that life ended with Garp sitting on a parapet, helpless as the boy he had watched grow up was executed for the very crime he spent years protecting him from.
In this life, Garp kept him much closer and didn’t make it quite as far.
AKA The ASL brothers grow up slightly differently than in canon, and have to leave Dawn earlier than they anticipated.

Sabo tried to summon back the blood he could feel draining from his face, already shaking his head. There was literally no reason for Portgas D. Ace to have ever laid eyes on Lastname-blank Middlename-blank Sabo. He didn’t have any sort of wanted poster with his likeness on it yet— if he did, he was sure Koala would have gotten ahold of him somehow to let him know, even if Sabo mostly ignored her calls if he didn’t suspect they might have booty in them. “No, I don’t think so. Probably just one of those top-hats.”

“Oh! You’re awake!” Says the man, sighing in obvious relief. “I’m so happy! I was very worried for you, when I found you out like a light in the middle of the battlefield. For a moment there, I thought the world had lost one of its wonders.” He winks in Usopp’s direction. “My name is Sanji, by the way, at your service.”
He pairs this last sentence with a curtsy, keeping the tray upright by some magical mean.
Usopp is paralyzed in fear. This man… This man looks exactly like the one who knocked him out. Just… blond instead. Could they be related? Are they clones? Will this one try to hurt Usopp too?
