Every year there's a choosing in Florida, where rich Alphas can choose an omega to be their mate against their will. In many places the choosing has been made illegal, but in Florida and some other states it's still thriving. It's George's last choosing, and he's ready to get it over with and start his life for real. Without alphas. Ever.
After the ceremony George is chosen by a certain Dream, and it seems his life will be over forever. But maybe Dream isn't so bad, maybe the alpha has an ace up his sleeve.

“Are you alright?” George asks. “Do I have another scar on my face? I’m fine, I’m sure you know the struggles of soulmates.”
His gaze catches on a scar around the man’s right eye. He subconsciously touches where redness still smudges around his own eye.
The bag boy clears his throat loudly. The cashier hurriedly looks away. “Sorry,” he says. “You, uh, visiting from England?”
George blinks. That was weird. “Uh, no, I just moved for work.”
The cashier drops the jar of chocolate raisins George had gotten so excited about. “Shit,” he hisses. “Dan, go get Ge- go get another one.”
