Summary
They both dropped out, and she was born tuned in. We went from town to town, shack to house to apartment to the great outdoors. Sometimes we went to school. Sometimes Mom said we needed to learn other stuff.
When things got really bad, Dad would clean himself up and find another job. Mom might sew us some new clothes so the teachers would stop threatening to call CPS. And us kids would run around town, exploring and piloting our pirate ships and waiting for everything to go sideways again.
