“Zoro.” It was Chopper this time. Small and timid. “What happened to you?”
“I made a promise,” Zoro said, tilting his head back and closing his eye. His blood-splattered hands spread wide by his hips, palms forward, and it looked strangely religious, the way he angled towards the sun. “And I kept it.”

Sanji has always had nightmares and thinks no one sees him. But Zoro hears whispers sometimes when he dreams and as clumsy as he is, Zoro knows what it feels like to have traumas. His duty as second in command dictates that he protect the entire crew, even Sanji. It’s just a matter of knowing how to do it. Sanji wants to stay strong against Zoro but he cannot deny that sometimes a feeling of protection can do good.
