When she wakes up, A-Jie will be a better Sect Leader than him. Besides, before him, she was the sect heir — if her golden core wasn’t under the constant strain of her sickly body, Jiang Cheng may not have become heir. She’ll receive his body with his trained strength and his and Wei Wuxian’s nurtured core, and no one could come against her, nothing would be able to defeat her — her strength of will has always been so strong.
If she doesn’t wish to become Sect Leader, she can abdicate — his heir has been picked out for years, either way. His sect is loyal to Yunmeng Jiang and he knows it will be left in good hands. If he had a last request of his Jie, it would be to check-in for Jin Ling. Jiang Cheng knows that Jin Ling would appreciate knowing his mother; as a child, he was always hungry for stories — Jiang Cheng had managed a few stories through tear-filled eyes in the dead of night — and A-Ling would love his mother. Three years after the bomb dropped on London and it’s all starting to come together for Alfred.
MI5 have offered him a promotion, he’s got his mum set up in a nice flat in Edinburgh and Dave Boy is even paying his bar tabs. So, of course, Alfred is going out of his mind with boredom.
How convenient, then, that a strangely worded letter arrives from Gotham, thanking Alfred for his application for the position of Head Butler to Wayne Manor, urging him to come as soon as possible.
There’s just one small problem—Alfred didn’t apply for any job. Which can only mean one thing: Martha and Thomas are in danger and they need Alfred to get them out of it.
It’s probably a trap. Alfred’s almost hoping it is.
Guess he’ll find out.

“You-” Ygraine said, stepping up to point a finger in Uther’s face. “You are a liar and a murderer. The fact you think someone as sweet and caring as Vivienne is destined to marry you is a tragedy in itself, but if you expect me to hand over my brother’s rightful claim to Camelot’s throne-”
“My claim to Camelot’s throne,” Uther threw back, face growing more red as Arthur looked between his parents in utter bewilderment. Merlin didn’t blame him. He had envisioned Uther and Ygraine’s love story to be more… well, less based in war and battles.
Ygraine’s eyes narrowed as she grabbed a goblet of wine and threw it in Uther’s face. A few of the guards shifted, but Uther only raised a hand to pause them, spitting out the wine with furious eyes.
“You,” Ygraine said coldly. “Are unworthy to sit upon a stool, let alone a throne.”
From a few feet away, Balinor scoffed as he sipped from his own goblet. “I kind of like having her as a hostage, Uther. She livens up the place.”
