Dear author, if you read this, and I hope you do, I wanted to let you know over a privately viewable message, that you were a huge impact on me, and I still think of that scene in which Saltzpyre walks up the stairs alone. When I say that it brings tears to my eye, it is not an exaggeration. I think it's one of the most realistic depictions of isolation, and I strive to write something that might touch another person as this scene did me. Know that if you never finish this fic, that first and foremost I understand, it's hard to wrap these things up in a grandiose and satisfactory manner, but if you don't, know that it never diminished any opinion or reception I've had to this work. It is still, alongside Flame and Fury, bar none, my favorite read on Ao3.
