The dust clears to reveal a man, kneeling serenely on the ground, before Wei Wuxian’s throne. He is dressed in pristine white robes, with a qin floating elegantly above his lap.
His hair is a silky black sheet cascading around him, dripping over his shoulders, pinned in place by an elegant silver guan. There is a distinctive silk ribbon around his forehead, and his long eyelashes are lowered as if in respect.
When he raises his gaze to meet Wei Wuxian’s, his eyes are like molten honey, sweet ambrosia.
This is Lan Wangji, Hanguang Jun, the god of vegetation!

“You always did like discipline, didn’t you Lan Zhan?” Wei Wuxian teases, turning his head slightly so his ponytail spills over his shoulder. “You’ve tied me up like this, so now what is it you plan to do?”
He fully expects Lan Wangji to back off, hearing such nonsense. To call him ridiculous and perhaps settle beside him in bed and send a jolt of spiritual energy into his back that will have him still and helpless until he falls asleep, tucked in beside Lan Wangji’s warm and strong body-
But Lan Wangji does no such thing. His gaze drifts to the bamboo flute in his hand, and then back to Wei Wuxian, his ears flushed and his eyes strangely glazed.
“Wei Ying,” he breathes. “Mark your words.”

In his other hand, he holds tightly in his fist his forehead ribbon, still loosely wound around him. Wei Wuxian was always forlorn to let it go afterward. He’d said once, almost lost in the midst of a long string of babbling as Lan Wangji fucked him, that he liked the pressure, that it was like being held.

A tail protrudes from behind his lithe body, held loosely up, its tip quirked to the side and flicking occasionally. His ears are triangular, perked up from between his somewhat tousled hair and glinting through his grin are two pointed, pearly white teeth.
Lan Wangji had assumed the tales of a young man being part cat were surely exaggerated, maybe born out of others speaking about his catlike mannerisms or the way he wielded his sword.
But as it turns out, Wei Wuxian is indeed a catboy!—
