Katsuki doesn’t know what it is tonight; maybe it’s something in the stiff way Shouto’s arms wrap around him or the way those heterochromatic eyes don’t quite meet his own red ones as they pull apart, but Katsuki feels like something’s different between them tonight. He tries to put it out of his mind as he heads out for patrol, but it nags at him. It makes his stomach feel as if he’s swallowed worms and they’re working their way through his insides. He’s done this to himself, he at least knows that much. It all makes him wonder if Shouto knows or if it’s his own guilty conscience eating away at him. He hates that gross feeling in his stomach, and he decides that tonight is the night he ends it. He absolutely cannot do this anymore.

Nai is perfect.
He’s protective without being overbearing, gentle and considerate towards Vash, is brilliant and answers all of his questions, and tells him about their dead mother. But best of all, regardless of what Vash asks for, Nai never tells him no—so, Vash feels he needs to do the same.

Nai Saverem is very well put together. He's a manager at his job, he's passing all of his college classes with high marks, he runs the classical music group on his campus while also being in the entomology club, he makes all of his own meals, maintains a house left by his dead mother, and takes care of his twin brother's every need.
He's perfect.
He absolutely did not keep the pacifier Nicholas D. Wolfwood shoved in his mouth to tease him, he is not watching cowboy TV shows with him on Tuesdays as a pretense to nap, he has not thrown a full blown temper tantrum it in front of him, and he does not melt when he gets called a good boy either.
He also hasn't had a crush on the modern cowboy since they were kids. He doesn't think he's attractive. He doesn't want to spend more time with him.
Not at all.
Nai is a mature adult who doesn't have time to socialize with his annoying housemate, let alone to entertain the idea of anything more with him.
