In the tense weeks of UA's training camp, Todoroki is unraveling quietly beneath the surface while Bakugo-sharp, angry, and too observant for his own good-starts noticing cracks no one else does. Bakugo never asked to notice Todoroki this much.
Never asked to see the way he barely eats at camp, to be the only one who catches the stiffness in his movements, or to care that he pushes himself too far.
And he definitely never asked to miss him during a stupid one-week break.
But when Todoroki returns to the dorms with a black eye and a pain he won’t explain, Bakugo can’t let it go. Bakugou turns off the alarm clock with an explosion, before it even gets through its second beep, and sits on the edge of the bed, staring at the pile of ashes on the floor as he waits to wake up. A habit he had since he was a child. God, he’d lost count of how many alarm clocks he had had to buy over the course of his life.
Before getting up he looks behind at the bed, where he usually slept, expecting to see him.
But he isn’t there.
Bakugou knew that he wouldn’t be there.
He gets up with a sigh and goes to the bathroom, while he thinks about all the moments he had of the time spent with him. He wonders when he really realized how he felt about him. About Shouto.
When did it all start?
Or maybe he had always known it, inside, but never admitted it until it was too late.

or Todoroki juggles growing feelings for Bakugou, the buried truth behind Touya's death, and a face from the past he never thought he'd see again. Some ghosts don't stay buried - and neither do emotions.
