Summary
The first Guide that is brought forward is a mess. Al-Haitham keeps his head down as the exchange commences, and once she is let go, Kaveh himself stands up and makes his way down off his throne. Then he looks at Al-Haitham and asks him to touch his hand.
It takes approximately half a second for Al-Haitham to know that he is doomed for life.
Al-Haitham enters a marriage of convenience with Kaveh, the new king of Sumeru.

It’s about finding a friend you never knew you needed, in the last place you’d ever look. About wishing you were worth sticking around for, and realizing you were enough all along.
