Summary
The mountain, as is to be expected, is bloody freezing at practically all points of the day.
The early morning sun is often blinding, glinting off of shimmering frost and reflecting light directly into Verso’s eyes. The nights are frigid, left shivering under blankets that never seem quite thick enough, curled tight into one corner of the bed.
It’s a little miserable by most accounts. Living up on a cold, snowy mountain is probably a stupid idea.
But Monoco is also there, and it doesn’t seem that stupid then.
(Or, Verso’s long life is wearing him down. Monoco tries to help.)

Summary
In many ways, Wyll Ravengard grows up in plush comfort.
His whims are catered to by attentive servants who make sure he is fed, clothed, and content. He never grows hungry, never wants for much. His education is seen to by the best teachers his father can find, attending lessons for music and dance and even sword fighting.
Many of his peers call Wyll kind, strong-willed, sometimes even arrogant as all young boys of his station are. He’s smart and generous for his age, running into most challenges head first and intent on succeeding. A stubborn boy with a good heart—his mother’s heart, his father will say quietly when there is no one else to hear his voice grow soft.
But from the moment that Wyll Ravengard was born he has been wracked by pain so severe that the medics had thought he would die before he ever reached his first year.

Summary
Louis is pretty sure he’s being catfished.
There is a gorgeous blond man grinning up at him through the screen. His eyes are so blue it verges on unsettling, but to Louis it veers even farther into captivating, like the brightest point of the sky on a warm day.
He also looks identical to The Vampire Lestat.
(Or, Louis thinks he’s being catfished by a very charming eighty year old. Lestat is just trying to find a companion in the modern world.)

By the way Lestat goes stiff and quiet, Louis knows the answer to that.
(Or, old memories of Magnus continue to haunt Lestat. He thinks sex will fix him. Inevitably, it does not.)

Summary
Lestat is argumentative with the staff, he's giving Daniel absolute Hell, and he's prone to disappearing for hours at a time when he is supposed to be recording or rehearsing. He is self-destructing, a violent nosedive back into his worst behavior, and all of it is being filmed for the world to see.
Or, at least, that is what Louis had heard from Daniel's colorful recounting that he stubbornly beamed straight into his head.
(Or, a bad filming session brings back horrible memories for Lestat. Louis is left to pick up the pieces.)

Jim pulls back the comm to look at the little screen. They’re still connected.
“Spock?” He asks. Nothing. Jim is about to snap the comm closed in frustration, when he hears a ragged inhale.
“You’re on a roof?” Spock’s voice is deadly soft, flat and hard and…something else that Jim’s brain won’t process. Jim rolls his eyes. He grabs another drink and wrestles it open, taking three large swigs before he bothers responding.

“Oi, Molloy!” a sketchy-looking guy with a camera says, a little too loudly for a gallery opening — obviously a paparazzi. “Nice shirt!”
“Aww, thanks, Schneider,” says Dad with absolutely toxic politeness that suggests he and the guy have butted heads before, which, yeah, that tracks with Dad’s mission to make everyone in his profession hate him.
He holds his leather jacket open for a photo, and yup, the shirt says EAT THE RICH in red, slightly shimmering letters. Cute.
“Nice.” The pap snaps some pics. “So how does that square with your billionaire — sorry, multi-millionaire — boytoy over there?”
“One, I’m the boytoy here, and two, you should have seen what I did to him earlier today.”
Okay, Lauren’s not hungry any more. Jesus Christ, Dad.
