Both Chuuya and Dazai (in due time) are sent on missions to engage each other to find out more. Both aren´t told jack-shit by their superiors/clients, so they figure it out along the way. Needless to say, one Shuji Tsushima and Toki Kashimura are a lot more lovely to each other when they aren´t in compromising situations that might reveal their intentions, identities... or fragile mental states.

Summary
Scott loves observing people. Especially so, when he knows how people used to act, so that he can compare.
Considering that, it´s no real surprise that he took False up on the invitation to come to the ten year reunion of his class. There though, through the phenomenon that is Joel, he ends up meeting a new face and finds himself prioritising the observing of that one in particular.

Joel is Joel and ends up accidentally ordering Scott a love interest by trying to invite his own wife. All of them end up having a nice evening.

Chuuya and Ururaka become (found) siblings after Chuuya gets flung into the MHA world at the ripe age of 18 (a few weeks after Dazai defected) and sort of gets picked up by her family through multiple encounters
Lots of settling into a new life (and the objections Chuuya has at first) and eventually Dazai comes back and it all sort of works out. Chuuya gets a job as a bodyguard, and Dazai eventually starts finding his place in the new world as well
Fun, has a logic to it and seems nicely indulgent

Summary
Dazai Osamu has devised the perfect plan to get the Akarukute Yokohama Senior High School administration to stop calling his adoptive fathers about his poor attendance: get an in with the attendance office and get them to fudge his records. The staff member who runs the office, the legendarily vindictive Mr. Verlaine, is a lost cause. That’s not a problem though, because Dazai knows exactly how to circumvent him. All he needs to do is befriend his little brother, Nakahara Chuuya.
Chuuya, however—"I told you not to call me that, asshole!"—is intent on making that as difficult as possible.
Or, a silly little high school AU about two stupid teenage boys who show each other that there's more to life than their insular worlds where everything is hard and fall in love along the way.

„Supersonic Boom“ by hibiscesque (Icosagens)
Modern High School AU soukoku - Dazai POV
Very nice spins on some of the characters, twisting them to fit in the mold of the parent of a highschooler (like Fukuzawa and Mori who are foster- and adoptive parents), a highschooler (like Chuuya and Dazai who both have very different approaches to academic endeavors) or someone who works at the school (like Paul Verlaine) while still retaining a lot of the original characters.
Both Dazai‘s and Chuuya‘s (and by extension Mori‘s and Verlaine‘s) backstories are still very tragic and hold a lot of weight and a lot of the spirit of the original backstories (labratories, dangerous environments etc.) while being changed so that both of them being enrolled in highschool and in the positions they‘re in seems reasonable.
Minor character arcs fall to the wayside a bit, but there‘s Lupin Trio, the Flags and Kyoka, all with character’s that push the story forward but seem true enough to who the characters usually are.
Dazai‘s sceems turn into genuine affection plotline - Chuuya being absolutely done and endeared at the same time + Dazai-typical questionable morality and self-preservation skills
A very nice and interesting read!

Summary
The man is wrapped in a blanket that was likely white at one point but is now smeared with dirt and grass stains. His hair, too, is dirty. Like he’s been sleeping on the ground for more than just one night.
Kenji tiptoes over to him. He rolls his shoulder, then kneels down beside the man and pokes him. “Um, sir, are you okay?”
The man doesn’t respond.
Kenji pokes him harder, putting a little extra strength into it with the help of his ability. The man rolls from his side over onto his stomach, groaning.
Kenji breathes out a sigh of relief. That means he’s not dead, at least.
“Are you—” he whistles. “Are you hurt?”
“Twelve seconds,” the man responds, still facedown in the dirt. “Then, I’m going kill you.”
