As the High Priest of the Cult of Ganon raised his scepter, the shrine atop the mountain began to blacken. Decay seeded through rock and fauna alike, and shadows writhed along the vine-enshrouded walls. Chasing the last echoes of an incantation, a bellow shook the air, reverberating like the harsh, thready pulse of a gong.
And in a porcelain bowl at the foot of the shrine’s stone steps, Hyrule’s blood began to boil.
“It is done! King Ganondorf will be restored at last!”

Summary
Twilight blinked, clinging tenaciously to consciousness, and was disturbed by the way color seemed to leech from his surroundings—swathes of greens, blues, and twilit golds spilling away like sand through an hourglass. He blinked, imagining he could still feel the metallic slide of the Iron Knuckle’s battle axe, the buttery-smooth way with which it parted his skin. He blinked… and was overtaken by a gray shroud.
Fog thickened the air, a wispy, humid cascade that swelled from the ground like sweat from a waking beast. Twilight startled upright and drew his sword, gritting his teeth in anticipation of pain, but none came. After waiting several tense seconds to make sure he wasn’t about to be attacked, he glanced down and saw that his tunic was intact. Slipping his waist guard aside and lifting his undershirt revealed healthy skin.
Yet the words drifted by once more—an echo dissipating as it stretched. His wound isn’t healing.

There is a deep ache in Twilight’s shoulders. It weighs on him as he stands in the shade of an unfamiliar stable—a pressure that seeps through muscle and threatens soul. He carefully does not look down. “Are you sure it’s real?”
The stablemaster eyes the heroes with grim understanding. He should appear ridiculous with his thick, curling mustache and floppy leather hat, but instead he just looks tired. “It’s real, alright. But there’s no guarantee he’ll help you. All the Great Fairies are a bit, ah, eccentric, but this one…” He tilts his head back and forth in deliberation. “Well, be cautious. There’s always a price with the fae. Don’t forget that.”

He hasn’t seen any of them in a long time. “I think I finally understand Time’s bitterness,” he admits. “I don’t feel it, necessarily, but I understand it. We’ve never really had choices. Not before, and certainly not now.”
Hyrule hesitates. “You could stay.”
“No. I can’t. It wouldn’t be good for anyone.”

When something goes wrong on a patrol in Coruscant's Lower Levels, Fox ends up captured. He escapes. Or, more honestly, a youngling also being held there escapes and decides to take Fox with her. In thanks, he patches her up afterwards and assumes he'll never see her again.
Then she comes back, injured again but she won't tell him how, instead she feeds him intel about the Lower Levels, like a payment he never asked for. She's skittish and so small and Fox will never turn her away but his worry grows each time he finds himself treating her wounds.
Eventually, something has to change, but this change is one Fox never saw coming.
