Mentorship Program 2025
When today helps tomorrow
The FIA and the GPDA are excited to announce the official longue of the new Grid Mentorship Program for the 2025 season. The goal of this program is to help the new drivers – commonly named rookies – settle in correctly in the big family that the grid is. To reach that goal, each rookie will be assigned two mentors amongst the reasonably experienced drivers. It will be the mentors’ responsibility to ensure that their designated rookie gets a happy, safe and successful start to his life on the grid!
*The participation to the mentorship program is not optional. Every driver chosen to be a mentor must take an active role as such, or he will face consequences.

If you ask him, Charles’ life is perfect right now. A job he loves, a great salary, many friends. Even his breakup with Alex is not as sour as he would have thought… Of course, sometimes he is alone but he loves to be alone. And right now, as the 2023 season has ended and that the pre-season testing of 2024 are still months away, he wants to take some well-deserved time off alone.
Until he receives that damn letter. Until he learns that his dearest friend has passed away. Until he finds himself parent of a four and a half years old girl.
Surprisingly, Charles doesn’t care anymore that his perfect life doesn’t look like it did before. Because now, he only cares about how he can make that little girl smiles. Even if that means racing with a purple turtle and fireworks on his helmet…Series

“Do you know what fanfiction is?”
Max blinks. “Yeah?”
“Oh, good,” Charles says, even more relieved. “Do you know people write about celebrities?”
Max rolls his eyes. “I’ve been briefed by PR, yeah.”
Charles flops down on the lounge, Sassy and Jimmy long gone, and props his feet up on the coffee table. Max rolls his eyes again, then sits down next to him. He and Charles are friends, kind of, and certainly closer now that they’ve ever been before, but he’s never really witnessed Charles having a PR-related meltdown before. They’re not that close.
Oh, well. A first time for everything, he supposes.
“Great!” Charles says cheerily, then unlocks his phone and shoves it in Max’s face. “Do you also know that we’re ranked second on Archive of Our Own?”

Summary
In 2019, four new rookies were promoted to the F1 grid:
George Russell, the 2018 F2 champion, to Williams.
Lando Norris, the 2018 F2 runner-up, to McLaren.
Alexander Albon to Torro Rosso.
And most surprisingly to many motor sport fans, who never thought they would see the day, for good or ill, Elise Stewart, the 5th place finisher in the 2018 F2 standings, to Alfa Romeo, replacing Charles Leclerc who had moved from the once-named Sauber team to Ferrari.
The only female driver in F2 in 2018 became the first female F1 racing driver since Giovanna Amati in 1992.
But what the hellscape that was certain sections of the Internet were also hung up on was that she was married, married to George Russell.
All manner of other relatives had raced together or separately in F1 over the years.
But now F1 had its first married couple.

Summary
Oscar’s focus comes back full blast when he hears soft, but quick footsteps and then feels two tiny arms wrap around his leg.
“Mister!” Oscar looks down and sees a little toddler look up to him with big shiny eyes. “Mister, I lost mommy”.
The McLaren driver tries to shake his surprise. He crouches down to be more at eye level with the boy. “Where did you see her last?” he asks. The kid just shrugs. He looks close to tears.
-
At the Monaco GP, Oscar finds a kid walking around the paddock unsupervised. He decides to help the polite boy find his mom but gets way too attached in the process.
Lando is here to help, Oscar thinks. And is definitely not a distraction…

Summary
"I realised something recently", Lando muses, stroking the stubble on his chin.
"Yeah?", Oscar replies, not even looking up from his phone.
"I think I've lost count of the number of times we've said 'this is the last time'".
Oscar doesn't reply.
