    "Yes yes I should- wait...my what?!" Wei Wuxian exclaimed

    "Aren't you and Wangji-mei engaged to be married?" Nie Huaisang asked, blinking innocently from behind his fan.

    "Engaged?!" Wei Wuxian yelled "Since when?"

    "I've heard people speaking, Wangji-mei gave you her sacred ribbon to motivate you for the archery competition didn't she?"

    "She didn't give- aish! What does her ribbon have anything to do with-" Wei Wuxian paused mid speech, realization dawning upon him "Nie xiong, is there anything special about the Lan ribbon?"

    "Did you honestly not know Wei xiong? Only a fated person is allowed to remove the ribbon."

    As much as Will knew Nico di Angelo, he knew what the rest of camp knew too. He knew that Nico could raise skeletons from the ground, that he too had fought in two wars, killed and slashed and maimed in the name of Olympus. Will has seen the all-black ensembles, the silver jewelry, the skulls, the casual coolness of his stance, the frequent scowls and cutting comments.

    And he’d assumed. Assumed some half-formed idea of what Nico was really like. Of what it would be like to be with him.

    After all, infamy does cling to Nico like a second skin.

    Or, the 3 times Will learns that Nico is actually, incredibly sweet, and the 1 time he decides to return the favor.
