Summary
There was no real reason why Kaveh would turn to pain every time he felt like he was out of control. Every time he made a simple mistake, he felt the need to punish himself. Over and over again he made mistakes, and over and over again he would take the punishment into his own hands.
He would take that shining blade into his hand and drag it against his pale skin, ripping apart the flesh that he swore he would keep clean. The flesh he promised to keep clean. Though as much as Alhaitham wanted to do for him, as much as he wanted to help-- you can’t help someone who doesn’t want it.

Summary
Blood poured onto the nice rug that Kaveh had bought for his room when he first moved in. The cream color turned a deep crimson, staining the things he once loved. As much as he liked to deny it, Kaveh was a materialistic person. He loved buying and making things; creating things that others could love and look at for years to come. Even if they don’t remember the architect, they’ll appreciate the architecture. Nobody would remember him when they looked at the Palace of Alcazarzaray; nobody would remember the Light of Kshahrewar. Maybe it was for the best. Maybe nobody remembering him would be a good thing. His mother could move on from worrying about Sumeru and how her son is doing. Alhaitham could finally have the house to himself again, Tighnari and Cyno wouldn’t have to deal with his drunk self on the bad nights where he spent his time at the tavern.
He’d miss his things. He’d miss all of the feats he overcame in his life, all of the people he met and every good night he had. All of the memories. All of his friends. Did he want to die? Did he want to leave this all behind after all of this time? After all he’s done?

Summary
His moves slowed to a stop when he noticed a single crow next to a patch of coral honeysuckle. The crow didn’t move, it just looked at Tommy, and he looked back. The crow’s wing laid slack next to its body, blood going unnoticed by the boy between the darkness of the night and the sable feathers. After this weirdly intimate moment with the single crow, Tommy continued on in his path.
His mind turned to his mother as he carried on with his walk. What would she think of him? Well, first she would be concerned that he was out in the rain with only a long-sleeve shirt on when it was only 4 ℃ outside. Maybe she would drag him inside, lecturing him on the way, or maybe she would shield him with her wings and ask what was wrong. There was no use dwelling on those thoughts. She was gone, and there was nothing he could do to change that fact.

Summary
Kaveh and Tighnari are looking forward to their senior marching season as drum majors. That is, until the unspeakable happens. With the rug ripped out from under him, Kaveh is now forced to work with his inscrutable and impertinent junior, Alhaitham. The success of Sumeru High School’s marching band rests on the off-chance that these two can see eye-to-eye, a seemingly impossible feat. A clearly defined set of rules is their only hope- obviously. Will this drum major team become cordial acquaintances or perhaps… more than that?
