Summary
A friend appears, a nightmare ends and life can finally restart.
Except, after five years of being trapped within his father’s dangerous world, cutting off pieces of himself until he doesn’t recognise the hollow shell that remains, Miguel doesn’t know what a ‘normal’ life is even supposed to look like anymore, let alone whether it’s something that’s possible for him to reach. His friends and family all wanted him home, while he isn’t sure if he’s capable of returning.
But he’s willing to at least try. He owes them all that much.

Summary
“So, do you maybe want to come in for a bit?” he asked, hating that he had to break their kiss to do so, but so excited by the possibility of what it could lead to that it almost made up for the lost contact. “We can just hang out, or, y’know, if you want we could…” He let one hand trail a bit lower, skimming across Eli’s waist to land on his hip, which he couldn’t help but squeeze.
The look Eli gave him was both amused and exasperated. A brow raised at the lack of subtly in Miguel’s suggestion and the corner of his mouth twitched up into a very familiar little smirk, but the excitement dancing in his eyes was undeniable. “I was beginning to worry you were never gonna ask.”

Sequel-fic to ‘And it’s my mistake, I never really gave you straight lines’ showing Miguel and Eli finally dating after all their bullshit, should really be read after aimm

Summary
After a rough breakup, Miguel winds up in his best friend's bed looking for some comfort. Then it happens again. And again. And now it’s happened too many times in the last ten years for either of them to even think of calling it quits, even if their game always leaves them both bleeding and nobody ever really wins.
It would be so much easier if troublesome feelings didn't keep trying to creep into their arrangement.

Summary
“I know it sucks,” he mumbled into Miguel’s hair, arm briefly squeezing tighter around him, “sorry I’m not very good at this.”
Even with the tears clogging up his throat, he managed to chuckle, smiling into Hawk’s shoulder. “You’re doing fine.”
Because maybe this was all he needed right now; someone to hold him and tell him it sucked and let him cry without drawing attention to it.
Or maybe he just needed someone to fuck to distract himself from his broken heart.

Prequel-fic to ‘And it’s my mistake, I never really gave you straight lines’ showing the first time Miguel and Eli have sex, can technically be read before the main fic but will probably make more sense if you read at least the first few chapters of aimm first

Summary
“Cielo?”
Eli blinked, the code in front of him blurring irreparably, finally breaking his concentration, even though he’d been so close to figuring it out, he was sure-
He glanced up, already glowering, frustration sharp and hot inside him.
Miguel didn’t look frustrated. He looked tired; leaning against the doorway, head dropped into the doorframe like even it was too much weight to carry. His exhausted eyes weighed even heavier on Eli.
---
Eli has spent his entire day off staring at his computer doing a favour for a colleague, but Miguel is not happy to sit back and let his boyfriend work himself to death, even if he has to make himself a pest just to distract him long enough to take a break.

Summary
“My dad,” Robby drags the word out, cuts his teeth on it, “roped me into it. I didn’t know what we were really doing. If he’d said we were going to Mexico I’d have told him that leaving the country’s a parole violation.”
Miguel snorts. “So are the drugs, probably.”
Robby gives him a half-grin, like a challenge, like, your move, Diaz. “Sure, but you’re no narc, right?”
Okay, fine. His fucking move.

Summary
“You sure you know what you’re doing?” Eli muttered, fully teasing because he had never once doubted Miguel’s abilities. In fact, when he had offered to do his makeup, Eli jumped at the opportunity. Partly because he was sure he would fuck it up by himself and mostly because he wanted Miguel to touch him.
Miguel huffed under his breath, a sound loud enough to break Eli out of his increasingly concerning thoughts. His breath was riddled with the kind of fake annoyance he pulled when he was concentrating and someone was needling at him. He didn’t answer. Instead, he shifted closer, bending, so he could lean over the chair. Eli barely stopped himself from shrinking back. Not because he didn’t want it — God, he wanted it — but because Miguel’s sudden nearness shorted whatever part of his brain handled normal social interactions.
“You’re lucky I like you,” Miguel muttered finally, the words a little too close to Eli’s ear as he angled the sponge toward his face.
Or: Eli and Miguel are getting ready for a Halloween party together, and Miguel offered to do Eli’s makeup. Unfortunately, sitting still while your best friend touches your face is a lot harder when you’re completely, hopelessly in love with him.

Summary
Miguel raised his eyebrows, lips twitching around the edge of a smile. The dramatics were always funny as hell to him, the way Eli, who could stay stone-faced during an actual fight, would unravel into a shrieking mess over a child beating him at a video game.
"Literally just flank, it’s not that hard," Eli snapped, his free hand slicing through the air in sharp, emphatic gestures as though Demetri might miraculously understand better through pure force of motion. "Jesus fucking Christ. No, no — don’t—"
Listening to the rapid-fire clack of plastic under Eli’s fingers, that frenzied staccato tapping that meant he was either about to win spectacularly or die in the most humiliating way possible, his eyes drifted down, following the sound almost without thinking, until they landed on the controller balanced between Eli’s hands. The way his thumbs moved — fast, precise, almost impatient — made something flutter low in Miguel’s stomach.
Or: Miguel loves his days off — just existing with his boyfriend, no obligations. But it drives him crazy that Eli would rather spend that time gaming than paying attention to him. All Miguel really wants is for Eli to put down the controller and put those hands on him instead.

Summary
Miguel wasn’t supposed to be thinking like this. Twenty was way too young to be losing his mind over someday — a house, a kid, a life. He was supposed to be thinking about midterms and karate and how to keep his busted old laptop running long enough to get through the quarter.
But here he was, hands slack on the edge of the stove, brain completely hijacked by the sight of Eli stretched out on the living room floor — laughing like he belonged there, like he'd always belonged there — and by the wild, dizzying want twisting up in Miguel's chest until it was hard to breathe.
Or: Miguel watches Eli playing with his little sister and maybe starts thinking about a family of their own.

Summary
Eli leaned in the doorway, one shoulder propped against the frame, arms crossed, watching Miguel’s back flex with every push. It was like he was kneading stress out of his own spine, all tension and focus. The apartment smelled like butter and cinnamon, thick in the air, sweet and warm in a way that should’ve felt peaceful.
But apparently Eli’s brain wasn’t built for peace. Not when Miguel was moving like that— arms flexing, back muscles shifting under cotton like they were trying to ruin his day. It was actually a little evil. Domestic life shouldn’t look this good. It definitely shouldn’t make him feel this twitchy, this warm, this ready to crawl out of his own skin just watching.
And the most annoying part? Miguel still hadn’t looked at him once.
Or: Miguel tries to bake. Eli tries to help. It ends in sex. Obviously.
