The world falls away. Jayce’s vision goes black; his mind goes quiet. It’s not like he stops being able to feel his body, necessarily; more that his body is no longer quite tethered to a corporeal form. There is still sensation—the cool breeze wafting in, Viktor’s hand on his wrist, and pleasure, pleasure, thrumming through every inch of him. As if it’s all he’s made for. Summary
Viktor is starting to realize God only speaks to him through Jayce. His touch, his voice, his brilliant ideas. It is all divinely inspired. Divinely founded. Viktor had entertained the thought that perhaps Jayce himself is divine. Holy. A messenger of God, untouchable. It is a thought that is easily pushed away, but returns each time with renewed energy.
Jayce Talis cannot possibly be anything other than human. So why does his presence inspire the need in Viktor to bow his head and clasp his hands, reverent and hushed in the way that only a church or synagogue is?

Think it over, will you? Don’t worry, I promise not to be too depressed if you reject me-”
“No, there’s no need for that, Dame Natsumi.” He cuts in before he can hear another word. He really can’t stand that self-deprecating smile on her face. “I was just… shocked. Are you sure about this?”
“Of course, do you really need me to say it again?” She questions, “I love you, Reinhard.”
