Summary
It is done now. They are bonded. The treaty enforced with magic. In this moment, Harry feels a deep satisfaction settle inside his bones, there is nothing Voldemort can do to them now, he can threaten all he wants, but not even he can break through this kind of bond without consequences. Which is partly why Harry agreed to it in the first place.
Harry doesn’t hear the officiant speak the last words, he’s too busy basking in this victory. Voldemort may think whatever he wants about Harry’s place in his new regime, Harry will chew himself a space at his side if he has to, he will climb his way up to that throne, and he will pester Voldemort until the new laws are laws he can live with.
Voldemort seems to know exactly what he’s thinking, his red mouth splits into a smile too wide, his teeth are too pointy. In the middle of a ripple of stilted applause, he says, “You may certainly try, Harry.”
Or : Voldemort decides it is a good idea to put a fuming Harry Potter in a wedding dress, and reaps the consequences.

When the Boy-Who-Lived stood in the middle of the clearing, waiting for death with terrified yet resigned eyes, the Dark Lord Voldemort thought that he had finally won. That he could now shape the world the way he was always meant to do, with no Dumbledore, no prophecy, no boy with green eyes stubbornly standing in his way.
