Summary
The first movie Sunday ever shoots with Gallagher is simple. Two young people on the bottom steps of a city meet, fall cheaply in love, and meet again years later, separated by life. The city is unstructured, left in concepts: alloyed illumination and zinc green, cloudy shop windows that recollect a haze of similar lights. The same nighttime fluorescents, seen overhead, shot by traffic signals changing at intervals over similar streets whether rain is falling or not. Gallagher rides a bicycle into the first scene of the movie. He rides that bicycle back out, into the end credits. You hear the ticking as it travels beyond the last intersection long after the movie has ceased.

“I sometimes think that I would be, too, if I wasn’t a Gunnhildr.”
Kaeya raises an eyebrow and turns to her. “What’s this now?” His lips are perched in that pointed little smile he puts on when he’s teasing someone. “The Lady Gunnhildr interested in leaving Mondstadt? What has the world come to?”
She laughs, of course, because she’s had far too much punch to stop it, and because Kaeya’s smile—even this awful, teasing one that makes her the butt of his joke—is a wondrous thing.
“Well, I would— Of course I wouldn’t be the Lady Gunnhildr.”
“Certainly not if you were an adventurer,” he grins. “Where would you go first?”
“Somewhere I could sail to, maybe.” She sighs. “I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else, though. Could you?” And then, because the punch has made her mind work a little slower and it is already a difficult thought to think even when she is not inebriated, because Kaeya has more Mondstadt in him than anyone else she knows, “Again?”
They are friends, first and most, before there is something like love between them, accompanied by an acute awareness that they cannot risk the things they love most for this.

In an alternate universe where a special portion of population of Panem can grow lovemarks on their skin for anyone precious to them (family, close friends, and lovers alike) Katniss Everdeen struggles with making sure no other flowers sprout on her skin except the primroses around her wrist for her baby sister and the evergreen leaves around her ankle for her dead father.
However, becoming a tribute in the 74th Hunger Games along with Peeta Mellark might make that difficult.
