Kaveh, a renowned painter, got into a fatal accident five years ago making him unable to recall his 'yesterdays' and create his 'tomorrows'. He continues to live his 'today' where he falls in love with a handsome businessman who introduces himself as -- "Alhaitham, the one you spilled on coffee yesterday."
Kaveh looks at 'Alhaitham' with a mild surprise. The name doesn't ring a bell nor it feels familiar when he tries to repeat the latter's name.
The painter blinks twice. "Sorry, who?"

"But isn't Kaveh...?" Alhaitham began, the pieces starting to click into place, a chilling realization dawning on his face.
"My reincarnation, yes," the Goddess confirmed, the sadness in her voice deepening, "And that is where the tapestry of fate began to fray. His birth in this world was a mistake, a ripple in the calm waters of destiny."
"What...?" Cyno breathed, the word caught in his throat.
"The Heavenly Principles did not favor this. He became a torn page in their book," Nabu Malikata explained, a profound sorrow now lacing her every word, like wilting petals. "Why else do you think that his life was so full of unfortunate events?"

Alhaitham stares at him in bewilderment.
"Why are you-"
"I don't want to owe anymore debts!" Kaveh yells abruptly, clenching his fists. "Nothing in life is free, I know that. I've learned that the hard way. And the last person I want to be indebted to is you."
Kaveh can't pay rent, he hasn't for eight long month, there just isn't enough money. But the last thing he wants is another thing for Alhaitham to dangle over his head.
He initiated it, but still, he never expected to find a new rent contract slipped under his bedroom door with the payment changed from mora to sexual intercourse.

As a ghost, he observes the aftermath of his death, including the reaction of his roommate, Alhaitham. Alhaitham, who probably finds Kaveh bothersome and would rejoice at his disappearance. Somehow, his reaction just doesn’t make sense?
