Summary
In another world, Severus forced himself to ignore her. Lily had seen through all his lies. She'd made it clear that, no matter what history they shared, she didn't want a Death Eater for a friend, and he'd already taken the Dark Mark.
In this world, the beginnings of a desperate plan filled his head.
Later that night, Lily found a parchment crumpled into her pocket. It contained information on a raid planned by the Death Eaters, and a shaky half-crown that she recognized at once.
Or: Severus decides to turn traitor long before the prophecy was ever spoken. He loses Lily anyway, but the rest of the war goes off the rails.
