The Wayne kids are taken hostage at a big event and Dick has to keep them all in line. A situation that would be so much easier if his brothers could at least pretend they were in danger.
A fic in which Jason enjoys himself far too much, Damian picks a fight with Tim, and Dick, is so very very done. -

Tim realized Gotham didn't need a Robin somewhere between the electrocution and the water boarding.
It needed something that would be able to compete with all the worst crazies, and still come out on top. Someone even more insane than Joker and less morally bound than Batman. A protector willing to get as ugly as Gotham herself was ugly.
Too bad Bruce didn't agree.
Or Damian.
Or Steph, or Cass, or any of his old so-called friends.
He'd show them then.
They could ban him from the masks and capes but he'd prove exactly why Gotham needed a Red Hood.

The news he had just received warranted him doing so, and the constant clicking and tingling of his jewelry that usually made him so happy, now was just another reminder of how his current outfit was unfit for speed. He took the big earrings out, the wind pulling on them was hurting his ears and so he decided to dispose of them on the way. Servants would take them, and if they stole it, it was okay. He had countless others stashed away.
