Summary
Castiel’s love for Dean Winchester has brought years of pain. He knows Dean sees him as family, and that should be enough for him, but a hopelessness grows inside him.
Sam has watched Castiel watching his brother since that first day, and he desperately wishes Castiel could turn that gaze on him instead. He could give the angel the sort of love that Dean just didn’t have to give.
