Summary
“You’re going to answer me, pup, or you’re not going to like the consequences.” Techno warns him, and Tommy nods his head slightly, trying his best not to get on Techno’s bad side.
“Good,” Techno practically purrs, before he tilts his head every which way, as if he was looking for something. His chest rumbles deeply in a reassuring manner, as he tries to get Tommy to calm down like he was some small little pup. It works, no matter how much Tommy hates that it does but the noise has his muscles relaxing, the tension draining from his limbs.
Techno gives him a pleased look, rubbing his massive thumb along his cheek, tracing one of the scars there. Tommy tries his best not to wither under his intense gaze.
Or Tommy gets himself into trouble with the Syndicate, a dangerous trio of mer, and ends up becoming part of their pod.

“It’s your soulmates, baby,” his mother whispered. “They’re not here yet. You’re missing them.”
Phil knew about soulmates, of course, like he knew about dogs and flowers and the sun. He just didn’t understand how he could miss someone he’d never even met. It wasn’t fair. But, fair or not, the feeling persisted. On the good days it was like an itch he could never reach, or a limb he couldn’t fully stretch—nagging, but manageable.
On the bad days he wanted to scream and cry and smash his fists against the walls.
Phil is born with pieces missing—four of them, to be exact.

Summary
“You alright there, mate?” The person in the sled asked him, and he looked up from the dogs. Tommy could see the beginnings of blond hair from under the coat, but that was about it except for the thick green parka.
“I’m fine,” Tommy replied, taking the moment to adjust. “They’re very pretty dogs.”
The person in the sled laughed. “They’re useful, at the very least.” Tommy found himself smiling. “Do you need a ride somewhere, kid?”
“If- if I can?”
“Sure,” the man waved him on, and Tommy probably ran as fast as he could to get on the back of the elevated sled. “I’m Phil,” the man introduced himself. “White one’s Techno, and his brother there is Wilbur.”
“Brother?” Tommy questioned the two breeds, ones that definitely didn’t mix.
“I adopted them both at the same time when they were pups,” Phil crossed his arms, “They at least think they’re twins.”
The husky barked at him for that one, like he had known what the words meant. The man laughed once again.
“It’s like they understand you…” Tommy marveled aloud, and he could not have been more right.Series

“Tommy,” the Man-with-the-pale-mask breathes out. “You can speak, can’t you?” Tommy stops. His teeth ache and his arms burn, but he can’t help but stop at the sound of his own name. The other Man, the one with the gun, has empty eyes. He’s silent as he holds Tommy against the ground, but his grip shifts at the question.
Tommy has heard the stories. He knows who they are: the Last Men. Sam taught him well.

It feels mocking, in a way. A simple, yellow line. The tape stared back at him, and Wilbur decided that he has had too much to drink tonight.
“Those are my cigarettes.”
“Yes,” he confirmed again, with a nod, this time. “Your point?”
“You stole from me,” Wilbur accused, raising an eyebrow at how casual the guy was being.
“I also saved your life,” he countered, and Wil sneered.
“I didn't ask you to.”
“Right, sorry, then. Here's my apology gift,” Tommy handed him a big object. Wilbur took it, and very quickly realized that it was a guitar. His guitar.
“And this is... my guitar.”

Afraid of unkept promises and drowning in memories of what used to be, Wilbur Soot tries dying. Instead, he finally finds a light at the end of his tunnel. Met at the Jubilee Line, and parted ways at the same place, Wilbur and Tommy were brothers.
