As Maddie’s fingers grabbed the doorknob, her mind began to race. When she opened the door, she expected Carl, or Wade, or someone with a pet emergency.
What she didn’t expect was to see Agent Stone in the flesh, sopping wet from the rain, carrying an unconscious Shadow the Hedgehog in his arms. Stone lifted his arms slightly to more clearly show the alien who had threatened the lives of her entire family in less than a day, now completely and utterly helpless. Stone’s words came out in gasps.
“Please. Help him.”When Stone finds Shadow, bruised and barely alive, taking him in wasn't a hard decision. G.U.N. entering the scenario just made things unnecessarily complicated, but keeping Shadow safe can't only be something Stone is aiming for, or Shadow's fall won't come from G.U.N.'s hands, but his own.

A few weeks (months? Idfk) have passed after Shadow the Hedgehog's sacrifice... And his supposed death. Sonic struggles to accept the harsh reality laid out before him, even as his own thoughts torment him with the truth. He just can't accept it. It's... It shouldn't be possible. He seemed so strong one moment, then gone the next.
Everyone notices there's something wrong with Sonic, but nobody knows what the problem could be. That is, until a certain Fox puts his thinking hat on.
On the other side of the property, Sonic comes to the realization that the dark hedgehog he grieved for so long isn't as dead as he was initially expecting. Yet the voice of his mind won't cease. Why?
(Hi, keep in mind I am simply just winging this. Idk where the plot is gonna go, so yeah I'm sorry if the pacing is shit, because it totally is.)
