Shang Qinghua really didn't mean to keep spending so much time with Shen Qingqiu, but they did need to figure out how they were going to change the plot without any systems to boss them around so it made for a really good excuse.
Reason! Not an excuse! A really good reason! Because there was nothing that he needed an excuse for seeing Cucumber-bro for other than the actual plot focused reason for their meetings!
He definitely did not have a crush.

Even if it was real, there wouldn’t be any evidence of it, because people who transmigrated usually never returned to their original worlds. Swapping bodies with a fictional character though… if that could happen, wouldn’t it be a known phenomena? Even just as an obscure conspiracy theory… but still, didn’t it seem like the best explanation?
