It’s like a knife to the gut, seeing in real time how Mickey doesn’t trust him as much.
“I’m glad someone was there for you.” Is all Ian has as he tries to stop his eyes from watering.
“Yeah, you sure as hell weren’t.” He spits out, and it’s angry and mean and yeah, fuck, it’s true, isn’t it? Mickey was in here all fucking alone, while Ian didn’t even bother to visit. Spent all his time missing Mickey, but trying to forget he ever existed. At the time, it seemed the best thing for both of them. Allowing a clean break, letting them both move on.
Turns out that ‘moving on’ is a little different when one person is locked up.
Ian swallows, wiping at a tear before it has time to fall. “I know.”
“See, this is fucking why I didn’t want to talk about this.” Mickey mutters, shuffling closer in an attempt to console and help.

Ian and Mickey may be back together in prison, but they still have a lot to talk about so that the past won't keep hurting them.

“I uh, I don’t,” he’s stumbling over the words, still not taking his eyes off Simon. “I can’t dance, really.”
“Oh, don't they teach you stuff like that at… royal school?” Simon shoots back, a challenging glint in his eyes that honest to god makes Wilhelm's knee buckle.
Wilhelm winces dramatically.
“Don't fucking remind me… I can give you a really unsexy waltz if that's what you want.”
The laughter bubbling from Simon's throat is worth all the embarrassment Wilhelm feels at the memory of tripping over his own feet at some function.
“Okay, new question: is there such a thing as a sexy waltz?” Simon asks and Wilhelm snorts.Or: Wilhelm spots the most gorgeous man in a nightclub. He's wearing a lavender shirt that makes Wilhelm's head spin and imagination run wild. And a smile that does things to his heart he's not quite sure what to make of yet.

They made it to the bus stop but not before being sufficiently wetted. Mickey immediately pushed at his husbands shoulders.
“Alright let’s hear it, fucker”
“Hear what?”
“That I was right!” Mickey says. They both had the most shit-eating grins on their faces and could not stop chuckling.
