Vincent’s smile curves like a blade. “Tomás,” he singsongs, “your ears are pink.”
“They are not.”
“Bright as a bruised cherub.”
“Vincent.”
“You did, didn’t you!” Vincent’s face lights with delight, that full, unguarded grin he rarely shows in public.
“Yes, alright. Sometimes I write…novels.” It sounds silly saying it out loud. Of all the things to be embarrassed by.
