Without help, without strength or any escape - what could he do? What point was there in fighting or even praying? Even if something heard him, would it even bother to get off its inhuman ass and actually help him? Probably not. That didn’t stop him from trying. He closed his eyes tightly and called out to the universe, to any entity that might hear him and hopefully be willing to help him.
‘I will give anything, everything; my soul, my life, my body - if someone helps me. Please. I want to fight, but I can’t do it alone. Help me, and you can have my life, my soul, my first born child. I don’t care. Please, help me!’

OR: Izuku calls for help from the universe - and someone or something answers. The offer to escape his horrible reality is easily taken. Izuku is thrust into the afterlife, still alive and human, and must learn what it means to be Soulbound, to one day become a keeper of the afterlife and all the souls that have ever existed.

Izuku shot up in his bed, gasping as he heard the voice—no, his dad's voice. It was like a floodgate had opened, thousands of forgotten memories being restored in his mind. He may have looked different, but Izuku knew it was his dad.
"Dad!”
Or, Izuku's dad protects him in any way he can despite being not being present in his life. Izuku just wants to see his dad again and goes out of his way to find him, adopting Eri into his family on the way.
