Instead of saying that Brie is his (like a possession), Colt claims that she’s with him, speaking volumes how deeply he took her words from the other day from the first time they made love and she bared herself to him, figuratively and physically. She told him that she didn’t like feeling like an object that he and Logan could fight for ownership over, but rather, a person with a choice. She’s afraid she’s going to be Colt’s pawn or something, like how she was to Logan, and Colt, to the best of his abilities, promised her that autonomy.

Gortash's steps are quick and precise, sharp somehow, and his feet are always too exactly where they should be. They come crashing down with exactitude at the precisely correct moment, giving his partner’s feet absolutely no quarter. He moves with rigor, executes every turn, dip, and move competently, but he doesn’t seem to feel the tug of the music. He doesn’t flow, doesn’t express anything as he moves. He is as precisely stiff and mechanical as one of his machines. He misses the point, misses the romance and the drama in the dance, treats it like Wyll used to treat his painting lessons: as a necessity rather than an art. And the man is domineering when he leads (and he only ever leads), steering his partners around the floor with an iron will. He seems to Wyll like someone too focused on controlling the thing to enjoy it. In short, his dancing is competent but it is not beautiful.
Or was not. Not with any of the others.

“I have a solution for you.” She looks down into her messenger bag, lifting the flap. “Something from the ‘dancing legend’ himself.” The words come out dead pan, with a hint of fondness and sarcasm.
“What?” Andre stands a bit straighter, mostly from confusion. “The cop-man?”
"Maybe some of his… whatever he had rubbed off on it. Or inspire you to dance like him. I dunno, just wear it. You might like it.” She has to shout over the pounding music.
“Isn’t that what that stupid pulp detective guy wears?"
“No, it’s what the dance machine who got us into this church and gave you your track wears.”
Egg Head spots the hat in Acele’s hands and lights up, even more excitement stretching across his face.
