TINCO
Translation: Metal.
Letter: T.
Aspects: Creation/Possibility/Freedom.
In Divination: What happens next is up to you. The future is raw, you may shape it as you will.
Cultural Notes: To the forging/metalworking culture of the elves who made the tengwar, the workshop was a place of creation and metal the pure stuff of life, like aether to the Gods. It is a pleasingly clean, intuitive choice for the work to start with an acknowledgement of the raw stuff it is made with, and a reading that is also so fortunate as to begin with Tinco never fails to bring good news. And so forth. This fic is both a 'scholar fic' with about three levels of framing and an actual and sincere beginner's guide to using the Tengwar, one of Tolkien's invented alphabets, to tell fortunes.

Summary
Gwyn ap Nudd was supposed to be raised to be one of the greatest warriors of the Seelie Court, but instead - when he is young - he is turned out of his home after a traumatic event, only to be repeatedly trapped and tormented in the neighbouring forest by his cousin until finally...only a semi-wild being remains. Discovered and captured by a young, Unseelie waterhorse, no one knows if Gwyn is capable of recovery - though that doesn't stop two brothers from trying. But the situation is dire, especially with his cousin still out there, looking for his missing prey...

Summary
One of his captains had asked him, “Maglor, do you not sleep beside with your brother when visiting him?” and Maglor had replied, “I do, as it makes it easier for me to sleep,” and his captain had said, “Which is good, because you do not usually sleep,” and Maglor had said, “I do not.”
But his captain had then asked, “but doesn’t Prince Fingon also bed with him, on account of their completely secret and frankly astounding incestuous affair that no one knows about (and I certainly don’t myself)?” and Maglor had replied, “Yes, and that makes it harder to sleep.” On account of that being a full and complete explanation, Maglor’s captain had said, “Ah,” and that was the end of that conversation.

Summary
Augus is summoned by the Unseelie King of the fae to test out his hand at being a diplomat with a secretive, cave-dwelling race of fae known as the vench. He is sent to the remote region of Aethelwaters to strike up a trade deal, with the King's Mage and executioner - Gwyn ap Nudd - as his bodyguard. They come face to face with a closed culture largely unreceptive to newcomers, initiations to test their merit, an unusual way of feeding, and pitfalls and traps at every turn. Will it drive the shaky foundation between Gwyn and Augus further apart? Or bring them together?
