Summary
Shouto Todoroki, the Prince of the Eastern Kingdom, was not only born with the magical gift of ice and fire but with the ability to walk through dreams as well. In his childhood, when he discovered he had the mixed powers of his fathers' and mothers' bloodlines, he had entered his mother's dream and had ended up turning her dream into a nightmare. In the end, she had wounded him in the nightmare. The effects were so strong it became a reflection on his face outside the dream world, scarring him for life. As a result, his mother was locked away in a place she could never harm him or any of her children ever again.

Summary
