“Give it a second to be funny before you break out that tone of voice,” Tarquin said. “It’s very funny.”
“He’ll push through Dorian’s reforms to make this happen,” Ashur said tilting his head and thinking about politics. He was musing. Tarquin could almost hear the wheels spinning in his head as he worked his way through it. “He’s paranoid to be going that far.”
Ashur wasn’t giving him any quarter on the humour. He was taking it entirely too seriously.
“It’s ridiculous,” Tarquin said.
“It is but not necessarily in ways we can’t use.”

Rook's life hasn't been an easy one. From surviving under the Qun as a Saarebas to eventually escaping and finding a new purpose with the Grey Wardens, now she's expected to save the world from a pair of ancient elven gods when she can barely keep her own wild magic under control. Guess it's a good thing the team includes a seasoned professor with a gentle touch who might, quite possibly, be the first true connection Rook has ever felt after a lifetime of pain and distrust.
A long-fic re-telling of the events surrounding Dragon Age: The Veilguard. but with major focus on original content involving the moments in between the known story beats. The moments that happen before and after missions and the moments during downtime that forge relationships, that force periods of reflection, that nourish the soul, that cause us to grow, that refill the emotional reserves to press forward, that remind us why - and for whom - we are fighting.

Davrin had thought that there was an expiration date attached to him, but then the dust had settled he's still standing a path ahead for the first time unsure.
As the changed Blight poses new challenges to the rebuilding Wardens and the messages from the far West promise at least some answers the estranged friends might find a chance at figuring their future together.
