Fauntleroy had never understood the stubborn division people insisted on making between witches and channellers, until they had really gotten to know Claquesous. His magic was different from theirs. More powerful, perhaps, but so much harder to control, much more difficult to point in a specific direction. Perhaps it wasn’t the same for all channellers, maybe Sous’ innate second sight was just particularly intrusive, but they no longer had to guess at the meaning of the old saying “witches create, channellers contain”. Claquesous never used herbs and crystals or even rituals and spells the way they did. Whatever he used was used to trap, curb or direct his natural magic. It must be exhausting.

Summary
Moonrise Towers was an oppressive place, but Astarion had not expected Tav to react it the way he did. He disliked speaking to people at the best of times, but whenever someone here addressed him – ever so eagerly – as a True Soul, Astarion seriously wondered if Tav was about to dimension door out of there on the spot. It made him uneasy. It concerned him. But why should it not? He needed to be able to rely on Tav, on his magic and his reluctant leadership. It was perfectly natural to be concerned in the face of such behavior.
Or: An unfortunate incident at Moonrise Towers leads Astarion to come to an even more unfortunate conclusion: he can't keep doing this.

How positively daring. Sean could feel Marion’s eyes on them through the lace curtains in the formal dining room.
Next would come words—words like some kind of a dance, meant to maneuver him. Sean had never been much of a dancer. A runner, and strong, as far back as he could remember. But Marion, he could dance, and Sean bet that Jean had received the very finest lessons in all the fashionable steps for young ladies.

But then someone else turned her and brought her back to him as a Malkavian, and Nines was having a hard time trying to sort the insanity from the wisdom, let alone deal with the unwelcome and persistent bond that wouldn't abate between them. At least she was managing to piss off LaCroix, though.
