Summary
Sans had snapped from the humans endless genocide routes, and so took the option away from them by killing everyone himself first. After so many times doing it on his own, he grew tired (and desparate) from the loneliness. He can't keep it up, but he can't stop, either.
(An idea featuring Sans being unable to take the loneliness at the end of his murder sprees anymore, and unable to continue living with only his brother's ghost for company. Tags are not completely accurate, there isn't really a happy ending.)

Undyne was practicing with her Dummy.
And by practicing I mean beating the absolute crap out of it, until finally, it broke.
Sans was on the sidelines, rooting for the Dummy.
"shoot. i bet 20 bucks on that dummy."
Undyne turned to him, raising an eyebrow. "Who the heck did you make a bet with?"
"this rock." He replied with a wink, gesturing to the stone on the floor beside him.
Undyne rolled her eyes, and turned her gaze back to the broken Dummy, before groaning. "Great, NOW what do I train with???"
Sans stepped up to her. "well, i have been told that i have a thick skull."
