“No, come on. There’s something else you’re not telling me. You were the one who mentioned a rematch. You were the one who bribed Nell. Face it, you’re just as competitive as I am. “Caleb,” Lucy supplied. “Yeah, I don’t know. There’s something about him I can’t put my finger on that seems off, and apparently, you thought that, too. So, I don’t think I’m going to go out with him.”
Yeah, that felt right, she thought as Tim nodded silently.
“Look, if you’re sick of me you can just say no.”

Lucy tells herself she’s not going to look as Tim lifts his shirt so she can mic him up, but her eyes betray her as soon as he pulls up the fabric. It’s not the first time she’s seen that near-perfect chest, but it’s a wildly different reaction than the time before. The first time had been at Rachel’s, and her lingering stare had been fueled by the triumph of her victory of short sleeves. But now? Now it’s an attraction she finds herself having to frequently tamp down. She lifts her eyes back up, only to find Tim staring right back at her. She feels like she can’t focus on anything, and part of her wants to run right out of the van.
But, she’s a professional, and she has a job to do.

It was their six-month anniversary. Ashley had approached him a couple weeks ago to see if she could plan a whole day for them to celebrate. Tim had no problem letting her take the reins because, quite frankly, he really hadn't put any thought into their anniversary. It was only six months, and he didn't feel like expending energy into a day that was hardly a milestone when he wasn't even sure if he still wanted to be with her. Her mic-dropping position on marriage and children had thrown him for a loop, and weighed heavily on him ever since. He could feel the prickling of resentment at her (and himself) for not broaching the topic sooner.
However, he'd been determined to keep things light today and try to enjoy himself. He was going to spend the day with his girlfriend, so of course he'd enjoy the day, right?
If he'd only known just how wrong he was going to be.

Tim might be finally getting a clue, even if it takes help from a certain goat to do it.
