Lunar is brought back from space, everything’s fine and dandy but something’s wrong. Lunar has started uncomfortably tugging at his fingers, arms, complaining that everything just feels too compacted; too tight.
As time goes by it gets worse.
To the point where it becomes chronic pains; him laying in bed for sometimes days at a time sobbing because everything just hurts, like he’s too big for his body and it’s all sore and it feels like his body is crushing him. Hawks saw this assignment for what it was: An opportunity. He’s been going around in circles trying to find a way to escape, and everything leads to the same thing: recalibration training at best, and a slow death at the hands of the commission at worst. They are not expecting him to survive, he just needs to play that to his favor. He has never given the Commission a reason to doubt his loyalties, he can’t afford to unless he knows he’ll come out on the other side.
