Summary
She neatly folded up her civilian clothes before eventually grasping for the suitcase under her bed, filled to the brim with weapons and her sister warrior habit. She piled all 2 of her bags at the doorway, and Lilith asked from behind her, “You ready?”
She paused, before wordlessly walking back into the bedroom and reaching into the drawer to retrieve the thing that held more importance to her than life itself. The paper was old and the pen ink bled through the page, she could make out the words Dear Beatrice through the folds. She tucked the paper into her shirt pocket and walked out of the room.
“Let’s get going.”

Summary
As the tea steeps, Beatrice sees the steam shift - like a breeze, like a curious sniff. Beatrice pours out two cups but the second stays on the counter (for the best since, just this week alone, Beatrice has had to replace a total of three teacups). She tries not to think too hard about it, turns away slightly so it’s just out of her line of sight. Though, she doesn’t know which is easier to swallow: the sight of the tea that Ava still cannot drink or the emptiness that greets her whenever she turns her head, the knowledge that Ava is back but not here. Not completely, not yet.
or: on touch and waiting and wanting
or or: Ava comes back invisible

Summary
“Okay so…don’t freak out.” Camila sets her down next to Beatrice’s and then pulls out her phone and starts tapping through it. Beatrice watches the sunflower keychain she has hanging from the case jangle around with each swipe of her finger. “Now, Lilith told me your situation. You need a fake girlfriend.”
Beatrice gets up. “Not another dating app, Camila. I can't…”
“No,” Lilith’s hands are on her shoulders, keeping her in place. “It’s not that.”
Camila makes a face, a wince, like it’s somehow worse than her nightmarish stint on eHarmony. “This feels vaguely familiar to when I was told I’d be taking some time away from home and ended up in a catholic boarding school.”
“Well,” Camila stops searching through her phone, apparently finding what she needed. “It’s nothing like that at all, but it might be equally as jarring. I had to break through like three security firewalls just to access this site.” She turns her phone around then for Beatrice to see the website she’s pulled up.
