“Have you seen Geralt this morning?”
“Who?” the man asked, perplexed.
“Geralt, the witcher,” Jaskier elaborated.
“We haven’t seen any witchers,” the man looked genuinely puzzled.
“I arrived with him yesterday. He took care of your nekker problem.”
“Nekker problem?” Was the man daft? “It was just you who came in yesterday. With your horse. Are you feeling alright, Master Bard?” The man had the audacity to look at Jaskier as if he was the mad one.
When Geralt disappears after an argument, no one in the small village they're in seems to remember him. Except Jaskier and an old woman with a chilling secret.
Someone always disappears at this time of year, and no one remembers they ever existed in the morning. The Fair Folk steal them away and they are never seen again.
Until now. Jaskier refuses to leave Geralt to his fate. He will get him back.

The Godling blinked, staring up at Geralt with her large eyes. “I wish I could pay you back for your help.” Lilia snapped her fingers. “I know! I heard tell of a jewel! But it’s cursed.” She frowned, and looked to the ground. “It’s also in Lettenhove.”
“It’s also not yours to give.”
“Well… you’re a Witcher!” She looked up at him, the beads in her hair jingling in the wind. “Maybe if you broke whatever the curse is, you could have the jewel, you know, as payment. I’d go to Lettenhove if I were you!”
“I’ll take it under advisement,” Geralt said with a small smile.
AKA- Geralt has no intention of getting involved with breaking a curse and naturally ends up very involved.

Summary
After a less than favorable interaction with Rience, Jaskier knows someone has to warn Geralt about the mage hunting him down. But with the mountain and Geralt's harsh words still fresh in his mind, Jaskier can't bring himself to greet Geralt in the same way.
Enter a pretty new disguise and a pretty new man introducing himself to the witcher as "Dandelion."

Summary
Yennefer gives Jaskier a ring of seeming-death to protect him from interrogation at the hands of Nilfgaard and it goes horribly wrong. Not because of tragic misunderstandings, but because Jaskier absolutely cannot be trusted with this literal plot device.
“In my defense, I figured it would be really hard for that woman’s husband to follow through with his threats to kill me if I was already dead...”
