Two months after the brain falls, Baldur's Gate has picked up most of the pieces. The heroes that saved Faerûn have been there through most of it, helping the city get back on its feet. But now it's time to move on. Old lives and families to return to. Gale is going back to his tower in Waterdeep, back to the quiet, back to being alone; or at least, that was the plan. But plans change.
This is a story about falling in love.

Dreuer’s heart caught in his throat. Something desperate clawed at the inside of his chest, and he reached out to wrap his slender fingers around Gale’s arm. He couldn’t let what might possibly be their last night together be something abstract. He couldn’t let his only memories of touching Gale be those of his attempted murder.
“You would rather steal my spirit away to the aether? I want -you-, Gale. I want to taste your skin. I want to feel you, I don’t want you as a god. I want the man I know. I need you.”
Gale looked at Dreuer, the desperate flash in his eyes, the tense grasp of his fingers on his arm. There was more to it than just need, he was sure, but Gale was not ready to break into the worryingly violent depths of Dreuer’s mind to find out what. For now, he could at least give the warlock what he wanted, and indulge himself in something he hadn’t done in years in return.
“The old ways, then.”
The truth is finally out. Gale and Dreuer share their first night together.
