There were few alive as skilled and competent in the art of Life Magic as Marcille Donato, who’d made it her goal to harness its power to heal and fix what was broken in the world. From lycanthropy to vampirism, from severed limbs to the common cold— all were welcome to the cottage to seek help from the Elven Mage. She was not perfect, however; all uses of magic came with their own difficulties. One can only lose so much of themselves before they are irreversibly damaged. So when she comes across an injured, feathered humanoid unconscious in the woods near her home, she is met with a series of new challenges— and a familiar face.

Summary
After deciding to travel the world and get to know herself a little better, Falin manages the woes of a long-distance relationship with Marcille, who is hard at work in Melini, trying to solve a completely different problem. While attempting to find a way to alleviate some of the distress Falin feels at no longer having some of the more enjoyable aspects of being a Chimera, the two of them try to meet in the middle without losing one another along the way.
