Draco shifts his head as he turns to look at Scorpius, his cheek touching the pillow. "Did you know that…" He pauses, his throat convulsing, and it sounds audible in the silence, besides Michael's steady, even breathing from the other bedroom.
Scorpius is staring back at him, in wait of something new to learn, a beautiful and intelligent child. He has Draco's mind. He has Draco's eyes and nose and mouth and hair. He is his. All his. All he has of Michael are his wild curls and the green of his eyes, and sometimes he looks into them and imagines that they aren't Michael's, but someone else's.
Draco leans his head closer, biting the quiver out of his lips before he breathes a laden and shuddering exhale, and he whispers, "You are my star in a big black sky."

the boy frowns at him. "then what are you?"
"a," wonwoo says. "uh,"
"great. even you don't know what you are?" the boy asks, glare so cold wonwoo wants to shiver. he doesn't though, because he's not cold. obviously.
"i am a robot? android?"
"bullshit. no way can you guys just be running around like this." wonwoo isn't sure what that means.
"i don't see what bull droppings have to do with anything."
the human sighs. "what's your model?"
oh, that's an easy question.
"GAM3-801."
"a GAM3?" the human repeats back and wonwoo nods.
"huh." the boy studies him with a different expression. wonwoo hasn't been around humans enough to know what that means.
or, wonwoo's made of metal and wire but shouldn't he be loved too?

"would killing pinnochio be a murder or a vandalism?" jeonghan had asked once, tone wry. "jeonghan," seungcheol halfheartedly chides. the older only cracks a dry smile though neither of them are laughing.
wonwoo's been unanimated again, out of commission for a few days.
it’s been happening more and more these days, seungcheol heaves a tired sigh at the amount of magic he would have to use up in order to get wonwoo back up and running again.
"he obviously has feelings and cognitive thought, though,” seungcheol relays to the other magic-user. “i can’t just.. leave him like that, now that i know he’s alive.” because every time seungcheol reanimates wonwoo, the being remembers. even after being reanimated again and again, wonwoo doesn’t forget what happens when he was alive, like a save file being opened over and over again after crashing.
"please don't leave me," wonwoo’s pleads haunt the both of them. "i want to be alive." and if there were any words more heartbreaking than those, seungcheol had never heard them.
or, wonwoo’s not really alive in the way seungcheol and jeonghan hope. at least, not yet.
