Al waits for Akira to make the first move. It's what he does. He doesn't want to pressure his partner into something he might not be comfortable with. So he lets Akira set the pace. But studio apartments are small. There's no way for Al to discreetly take care of himself, not in the way he wants to. Frustration has been a constant companion for him lately and he doesn't like it. It doesn't make him feel good.
Maybe, Al thinks to himself, I could just ask him.
I'll just ask him, he decides. The worst thing he can say is no, right?

"You really should, otherwise you wouldn't be so damn tight!"
"That's not how it..." Not the point. "Do it thoroughly, or I'll make you pay."
And they bicker the entire time.

The Man of Progress is a symbol and a carefully crafted illusion. Behind it, Jayce has been sinking. Until Viktor makes an offhand comment at a gala and the illusion completely shatters.
“Jayce,” Viktor says. “You’re bleeding.”
That makes sense, Jayce thinks, since he’d apparently just crushed a glass in his hand.
“You’re also not breathing,” Viktor notes. His voice is concerned now, and Jayce feels Viktor’s hand fall on his elbow.
Jayce nods, because that makes sense too. Or, no. It doesn’t make sense. He should be breathing. But Viktor is correct that Jayce is not.

Just shared breaths.
A feeling of devotion and love so deep it swelled around them.
The sensation of being ripped apart and pulled together as if by magnetism. By fate.
A warm hand, a soft gaze, then nothing.
